Internship opportunities

  • Description:
    Help communicate the wonders of the universe! Science Editor Interns research, draft, and edit accessible blog posts, articles, and news summaries about space science, astronomy, and technology.
    Responsibilities:

    • Help edit and proofread team submissions

    • Collaborate with the design team on visual + written content
      Skills:
      Clear writing, curiosity about science, willingness to learn journalism basics

    • Written at least ONE article/blog for Cosmic Creators.

    EVERY PAPER EDITED WILL RESULT IN 5 VOLUNTEERING HOURS

  • Description:
    Bring Cosmic Creators to life through digital visuals! This role focuses on creating graphics, illustrations, infographics, and visual content for social media, blog posts, and presentations.
    Responsibilities:

    • Design social media graphics, thumbnails, and visual explainers

    • Collaborate with writers to turn complex info into easy to understand images

    • Help develop brand visuals for campaigns
      Skills:
      Graphic design tools (Canva, Figma, or Adobe), visual storytelling, creativity

    FOR EVERY GRAPHIC/POST CREATED WILL RESULT IN 3 VOLUNTEERING HOURS

  • Description:
    Support our growing knowledge hub! This role involves collecting, organizing, and curating summer programs, research databases, STEM resources, and publication opportunities for students.
    Responsibilities:

    • Build and update our resource library

    • Summarize opportunities and categorize by age, deadline, and topic

    • Assist in verifying links and program accuracy
      Skills:
      Organization, attention to detail, interest in academic research or education

    EACH RESOURCE CREATED WILL RESULT IN 4 VOLUNTEERING HOURS

  • Description:
    Help shape and maintain the Cosmic Creators website, ensuring it’s accessible, updated, and engaging. You don’t need to be a coding genius—just enthusiastic about tech and design.
    Responsibilities:

    • Assist in uploading blog posts and managing site structure

    • Suggest and implement improvements to user experience

    • Troubleshoot basic formatting or image issues
      Skills:
      Familiarity with Squarespace or willingness to learn, problem-solving mindset

    • MUST HAVE SOME TYPE OF BACKGROUND IN WEB MANAGEMENT

    NUMBER OF HOURS DEDICATED WILL TRANSLATE TO NUMBER OF VOLUNTEERING HOURS RECEIVED X2
